HISTORY Simpson Grain Co. was originally established in March of 1913 as Mardenis Equity Exchange. In 1922 the court ordered the sale of Mardenis Equity and was sold into the Pasko family and the name Simpson Grain Co. was taken. The mill was totally destroyed in 1937 by fire, then immediately rebuilt. Different phases of construction continued thru 1957. In April of 1958 about 80% of the structure was destroyed again by fire. The current structure was rebuilt after this fire and additions continued to be added thru the early 80’s. In 1972 the elevator was purchased by Don and Eleanor Sunderman. The Sunderman family remains the current owners today. Today three generations of the family work in the business. The elevator started handling Kent Feeds in 1969 and Kent remains the sole supplier for the feed line today. Simpson Grain is the oldest Kent Dealer in the Eastern Sales Territory. Currently we offer a full line of animal feeds from Kent as well as many custom mixes. We also have bulk and bag delivery options available. Seed cleaning, misc. farm supplies, wood shavings, pelleted bedding, pet foods, pond supplies, bird feeds, and softener salt are some of the other products we offer. The purchases of grain and storage options are available also.
We currently have 8 employees and serve feed customers
within an 80 mile radius of Huntington. Our longevity is attributed to a
commitment to customer service. |
